For the first hour, DC TimeBank member Reena Kazmann will lead an llustrated talk with demonstrations on how to use brown paper, shopping bags, newspaper, cloth and more as gift wrap. Reena is a crafts designer, teacher, and lecturer who started www.eco-artware.com, the web's first gift store carrying only designs made from recycled, natural, and vegan-friendly materials by independent designers in 1999. She has also been exploring green and gorgeous alternatives to eco-unfriendly commercial wrapping paper for those gifts for years. Afterwards, DC TimeBank coordatinor Caitlin Duffy and self-professed recycling nerd will explore how to divert recycleable waste away from landfills. The group will delve into resources, misconceptions, and common questions.
